Weren't the original LV and then the NLV series made in Japan, whereas the current SLV are of Chinese . NO blackouts whatsoever. Very user-friendly eyepiece; easy and comfortable to look through for extended periods of time. Smooth barrels, threaded for 1.25" filters. Plus, they just look so cool .
